I'm not really sure what we're missing - we have both a 2003 and a 2008 enterprise version server and both of them once the os's have been installed don't seem to have the odbc drivers.. I have a windows 7 premium(64 bit) os and i don't have msaccess etc in my odbc , it shows only sql datsbase server how shall i get all the other drivers ?. Opening up the odbc data source adminsitrator, under the drivers tab page, it is empty. so i tried re-installing mdac 2.8 and also sp1, the installation completed sucessfully but the drivers is still missing. tried searching on the msdn site, shows, odbc driver cannot be un-installed..
When i am trying to create any new system/user dsn drivers corresponding to all the databases except sql server is not showing up in the wizard in odbc data source administrator.. I am not able to add data sources when following the steps to configure odbc data sources in the documentation on using database explorer. the microsoft access driver (*.mdb, *.accdb) option is missing in the 'create new data source' window.. So we realized that the issue is not with the third party driver rather it is the registry key from where the odbc data source administrator (odbcad32.exe) actually picks up the list of drivers. the odbc data source administrator (odbcad32.exe) picks up the list of entries from the following registry path..
